About Scovillo

What this is, and how it handles your recipes.

Scovillo is a recipe and batch tracking app for hot sauce makers. Build a recipe, work out your brine and pepper ratios, then run the batch step by step — timers, fermentation logs, and notes included — so you have a record of what you actually made rather than a vague memory of it.

It's built for the stage between “a jar on the counter” and a production line: people making sauce seriously enough to want their process written down and repeatable.

How it works

Your device first. Recipes and batches are stored in your browser, so the app keeps working in a kitchen with bad signal or no signal at all. Changes are saved locally the moment you make them.

Synced when you're signed in. With an account, your data is copied to Scovillo's servers and follows you between devices — start a batch on a laptop, run it from your phone at the fermenter. Without an account, everything stays on the one device.

Installable. Scovillo can be added to a phone home screen and run like an app, including offline.

A note on food safety

Scovillo is a record-keeping tool. It helps you track what went into a batch and what you did to it, but it doesn't verify that a recipe is safe, shelf-stable, or fit to sell. Fermentation and acidification carry real risks — follow established guidance, and if you're producing for sale, work with your local regulatory authority or a process authority.
